Urbex - The New Game

Today, I discovered urban exploring and really enjoyed it.. Visited a mental hospital in Woodhouse Eaves- been closed for several years..Bill, Brent and I set off at 8am - no -one about went through the woods and easily found thisdinosaur of a building.

Took a full circle of the building to suss it out
Kids swings were quite a sad sight as was little blue ride on tractor overgrown with weeds, Bill also found a child-size porcelein bath in the grounds - all overgrown with weeds.Last September the site did not have the metal plates on all ground floors and access to all outer stairwells boo hoo
lashing rain stopped play - decided on a tea break at great central however it was memorabilia collectors day and mum's a much better option

BACK

Decided this......
was a very polite request and none of use felt like being very polite at all. No openings, we split up to take a few shots.. coming round a bend i spotted 3 people, 2 lads and a girl,, the lads carrying a huge metal grating.. intro'd brilliant more urban explorers = met up with Bill and Brent and we learnt a few tips.
1. DONT wear huge fat biker boots and sturdy trainers cos your toes dont fit in small gaps.

2. GET OVER fear of heights and practice leg stretching to maximum
3. Never Look down through very old and broken iron steps on an outside fire exit.
4. When on the roof CONQUER fear of heights & try to admire the view

5. DONT WATCH when someone (or in our team Brent) slithers down through a mostly gone glass roof - drops and stumbles in lots of glass
6. On no account FOLLOW COS THAT WOULD BE BLOODY STUPID AND YOU JUST MIGHT REGRET NOT SEEING ALL THE FANTASTIC ROOMS that Brent saw.
All credit to Brent as he tried to find us an entry on ground level but failed.

Took a few shots whilst awaiting smuggerys return

who is that on the roof?

Here he is

Will send you the link of special insider pics,, just let me know who to..
.

Next time... watch this space
