American Road Trip with St Scooby Doo Day 10

Day 10 dawns and we pack as always very very quickly.. and into Scooby doo  leaving behind the doggy motel.. Heading on the 10 East to Alabama... right down South..   Took alook on the map at Pirates Cove for the gig invite.. called Paula.. No.. confirmed..
Panic sets in.. big ogre of a bridge  high and horrible.. tense nervous headache sets in.  Too many bridges.

Even more panic.. where is the blog diary.. f++k   ..  Must have left it at the motel.. Pen calls..

Jimmy will strip the joint and we will call back in half an hour.. he has promised to look everywhere.
Jimmy called back.. he has pulled the bed apart and shook everything, has thoroughly looked and no book.. suggests to Pen
Maybe your sister ought to check her case.

did so.. yay.. hooray.. there is the book.
So happy not left as Jimmy may have read the treasured book and saw my scribbling description THE MOTEL IS DOGGY.
Hee hee..

we may still spot a dillo yet as we are still in the handle of Mississippi and not Alabama..
BUT NO LUCK

Entered the Gulf of Mexico at 10.15am and OMG white sandy beaches
Its very blindy white, very beautiful, refreshing.
we have the sparkly ocean running alongside

On the Alabamic scenic bayou at 1.20pm and pen is driving. Hardly any churches and we are back to the baptists. DAUPHIN ISLAND and over the ferry to Fort Morgan.
Pen is laughing as my camera and me got wet.. NOT SO MUCH

Ben Secour wildlife stopped for a paddle.. There are gaters here and you are discouraged from feeding them.. Let the f++kers starve. More drippy trees and swamps abound. We are at the most southernmost point of Alabama lots of coloured houses on legs.
and signs re the oil spill.. Pen tells me hairdressers all over america were saving the scrappages of hair, they put these in nets and used them like dams to contain the oil, the nets were all tied together. people were donating their hair.. fantastic
 On the beach.. bliss.

 Pens shot on her iphone

 Idyllic... Powdered sugar beaches
Checked into the Pedido,, nicest room so far.. its beautiful and has very bouncy fluffy beds ohhh and a balcony with sea views and smoking as well.. NO.. YES hee hee

Sunset saw us back on the beach and just relaxing
debating a swim.. but the bar won

There is a Mullet Toss on tonight,, but would have to get a cab.. cant be bothered. but would have been worth a look see
Barbara Burns is a bartender at the FloraBama Package & Lounge, one of the last great American roadhouses, which sits equally as much on Florida soil as on Alabama's. They host this annual fish fest. "We throw 300 pounds of mullet from the Florida side into the Alabama side," Burns says. "Most people take the fish and roll it up like a baseball, tight as they can, crunch its little bones and everything else." Right away you'll recognize a mullet launched by an artist; it will slowly come unfurled and cut through the air, head first, and land about 150 feet away. Flings by regular folk often leave the mullet mangled, airborne in many different parts.

"We recycle," Burns boasts. "After you throw you have to retrieve your fish. And if it's not too screwed up, you wash it off and throw it back in the bucket." For the early-retired mullet, the FloraBama often invites some pelicans from the Alabama Wildlife Association to help clean up the mess.
